ETM+ Spectral Filters
The nominal wavelength location of the ETM+ spectral bands and the
nominal ETM+ IFOV size and associated ground resolution, for a 705 km
satellite altitude, are as shown in Table 3.8. The ETM+ spectral bandwidth
is determined by the overall combination of all of the optical elements,
the spectral filters, and the detector response. The spectral filters,
located immediately in front of each detector array, are the dominant
items that establish the optical bandpass for each spectral band. The
prime focal plane assembly has a filter housing that contains filters
for bands 1 through 4 and the panchromatic band. The cold focal plane
assembly has a filter housing that contains filters for band 5, 6, and
7. The spectral filter for the ETM+ are of ion assisted deposition (IAD)
design to reduce changes due to outgassing in a vacuum.
